@jibberjabberman The London smog, rather that fog, was a feature of a bygone era. My wife, who was born in North London, back in 1947, experienced the London smog as a school child. That was back in the 1950s, when unprocessed coal fires still filled the air with pollutants. There are film clips from that era which show the smog problems of mid-20th century London.
