Tenor Michael Hayes sings the ever-popular aria "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's "Turandot" in the 2004 Virginia Opera production that earned Mr. Hayes critical acclaim. The aria is most recently known as the piece that secured victory for salesman-turned-vocalist Paul Potts in the popular British television series, "Britain's Got Talent."

I saw this performance, as well as Va. Opera's previous production years earlier. The earlier performance had a guy named Frank (something) in this role. I thought that performance was much better than this one, although this one is very good. Frank's performance caused the audience to erupt into applause even more than this one.
