  • This song was my parents' "song". Sadly, they are both gone now, but the song brings them back to me when I listen to it.

  • It takes talent to breathe life into an old standard like this. WTG, Rod!

  • Wonderful, wonderful song !!!!!

  • A great song knows no time as it plays out in its lyrics and melodies those feelings held across generations.

  • How anyone can mention Donald Duck whilst listening to this is amazing but there is always one who is on another planet.

  • I never liked Rod when he was young ,I am 68 but he does this song proud and the backing is great .It comes from the film Picnic with that greatest of actors William Holden ,it is one of the sexiest dance routines ever filmed.

They were the good old days that made you feel great.

  • Actually these songs from Tin Pan Alley are timeless gems and have a life all their own. Alas, not many people know how to perform them any more - it's almost a lost art. So - kudos to Rod for his skill.

  • Rod's Romantic Rendition.

    (Best Version.)

  • This just shows Steve Allen's great talent, as you all probably know he is the one who penned the lyrics. He was truly a genius and ahead of his time, granted besides a few most of his vast musical library is unknown but just by listening to this song you can tell that he was talented. I mean he was the originator of the concept of The Tonight Show and an illustrious author RIP Mr. Allen

  • what is wrong with anyone who thinks this sounds like donal duck, its funny , but come on this is never donald duck singing

  • Thanks for posting this superbe video....

  • @skrivis52 I couldn't keep serious about your fanny way to describe his voice. I do love Rod. I think he is great and I love that voice. Can you imagine what he would say if he could read your scrap? may be.. quack..! ahahh
