  • no helmets then

  • So this was a United Artists production (like THE OUTER LIMITS)? I still don't know why ABC went for this, and the same season NBC aired WILD COUNTRY with Earl Holliman. More so than any period Western, it's the same show...modern day rodeo cowboys and their adventures while trying to win the "Gold Buckle"--top prize in their sport.

  • I remember watching this one, I think it was more of drama than an action show. I liked Jack L. in this part.

  • Terrible script!

  • IMO, the New York-born Lord was miscast in this role. Considering that Lord had worked on Broadway and was the original Felix Leiter, Lord did not make a convincing cowboy. Also, Lord was considered for the role of Capt, Kirk but was ultimately turned down because he was asking for too much money. Since that show only lasted 3 seasons compared to 12 for Hawaii 5-0, it was probably the best thing that happened to his career.

  • Send to crackle queue

  • @MONGOOSE1ful A 'second' from me.

  • Bruce Dern must not have enjoyed working on this series...he allegedly said in an interview that he never wanted to work again with 'that a--hole Jack Lord'.

  • Would make a good trivia question. BTW, Jack played CIA agent Felix Leiter in Dr. No.

  • A Rare Classic! "STONEY BURKE" should have been released on DVD already,,since

Jack Lord's HAWAII FIVE-O" series has been enjoying great success on DVD since

CBS/Paramount released the series in 2007. i'd erge anyone to let MGM,the ownner

of this series,to get this out on DVD!
