I trained with Royce up till brown belt... gjj is very different to bjj imo. I am now a Gracie Barra black belt with 14 years of training. I know for a fact how tough Royce is not just technicaly but mentaly.... the guy is one of the bravest people I have ever met and I have so much respect for him.... a very nice, genuine guy who is an amazing teacher fighter, farther and man. I will always be indebted to him for what he has given me.

Gracie Jiu Jitsu is a more complete instruction geared mostly towards self defense that applies to EVERYONE no matter their size,strength or athletic ability. Most Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools that are not Gracie Academy certified focus more on tournament or mma preparation--Like Eddie Bravo's 10th planet

@KettlebellLifter Try Gracie University which, although it is online instruction, is shockingly good and different from any BJJ school I've ever attended. I would call it better basic instruction than that which I received at the Gracie academy itself.
