I played through the game, and still don't understand the ending all these years later.

I've always wanted to play a game where the main character dies. I'm tired of every game I play, the main guy always lives and wins. I like this ending because, to me, it's a more powerful ending than just "Yay, I'm alive! *BOOM BOOM BOOM* Die! Yay! I saved the universe!". I was really hoping Master Chief would be dead at the end of Halo 3 just so he could finally rest. It's one of those types of things.

I liked the game but they left too much unexplained, after all these years this is one ending that'll stick with you.

The footsteps and gun cocking are the guards, they shoot him in the head, the bitch gets her panties in a bunch and uses the guys body as some sort of bomb. Stupid ending.

Most people want to see some kind of resolution at the end, some kind of success and reward for finishing the game. That's why people play games, watch movies, etc... If they want to experience failure, there's always real life for that.

This always was the most terrible game I've ever played.

it was different. it lives up to it's name. PARIAH...had fun on multi-player. esp. catch the flag. the story could b re-written. it has the basic's. interesting subject of genetics. what if? who gots the time and know how to make a revised pariah? i think they could . just a thought.

agreed with veloriumcaptain.... as much as I love the halo series if MAster Chief had actually died the ending would have been a true,emotional,powerful ending, not "I am going to wake up from cryostasis and kick more ass!!!" sappy ending...... and this game was fun to play, even despite the story.....
