When the worst bushfires in the history of your country cut a swathe of destruction through the areas in which you grew up, it really makes you think. It makes me think about how lucky I am and how I should stop putting off all of these things I want to do. So here are some of them.
Thank-you to everyone who sent their thoughts and wishes and concerns to me - it meant more than you could know. :)
For more information about the fires and how you can help, see this website: http://www.theage.com.au/national/bushfires
Special thanks to YouTube for making me upload this twice, even though I got up early so it would be uploaded before I went to work.

And by "some people" you mean me. :P Anyway, How To Look Good Naked is on repeats now, so I'm not watching it.
But you may have an idea there. Of sorts.

Well, it's dependent on whether they accept my submission or not, but it would be pretty fantastic if they do!

Yeah, I'd have to take leave without pay or something... unless I could work some of it in around school holidays. I probably won't be accepted but at least I'm going to try. Finally. :D

Id like to suggest an excersise for all the procrastinating writers. It involves making a list. the "Why arn't i writing" list.
Basically, every time you have spare time and you dont use it to write, put down the reason. Some reasons are acceptable of course. doing the laundry
Some are not Watching "How to look good naked" for example is not a good reason to forgo writing
At the end of the week, look back think about all the reasons you gave It might be a good wake up call for some people.

I've always wanted to go on an artist retreat so I'm really happy that you ARE going on a writer's retreat!

3 weeks? Woah. That's really amazing. I've seen retreats that were for the weekend, but I've never seen one so long (I'd never have the vacation time to do it myself).

I'm happy about it, too. :)
Honestly, I've wanted to apply for that thing for ages. Three weeks in the Blue Mountains just to write! You can't go wrong. Only problem is, you need to have a project you're working on... and I finally have one!
(Also, the gmail filter thing works like a charm!)
