On Sunday morning, November 13th, Portland police seized Lownsdale and Chapman squares from Occupy Portland protesters, who have camped at the site for the past six weeks. Officers swept into the public parks after a Saturday night of brinksmanship with protesting crowds that swelled into the thousands. Sunday evening, crowds moved to Pioneer Courthouse Square, but police have said they will not allow protesters to occupy any more public parks.

  • @BLUElabelROOR Most of the occupiers (although not all) want capitalism, corporations, and a free market. The fact is the system we have now is NOT a free market. We aren't against people making money, we are against corporations and rich people fixing the system by legally bribing our politicians. Also jobs in America are less plentiful than they used to be, McDonalds just hired 60,000 workers but they had over 1 million applicants and that job is not enough to support a family of 4.

  • cops riding horses?

  • FIFTHY OWS....I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE REAL 99% SHOWS OWS THEY ARE THE REAL 1%.....AND OPEN FIRE WITH LIVE FOUNDS ON THE HIPPIE FOOLS.

  • This fringe element continues to alienate the real 99% of Americans that work hard, pay taxes and try to do constructive work for the community. Either help or get the fuck out of the way.

  • @Hadhock A little longer commute would be nothing really. I could tolerate that to let them have an opinion. Will it do any good? Doubtful. But, I would be willing to tolerate it. Drug overdoses, violent aggression, and disrupting normal business and commuting services doesn't solve anything.

  • Were they seriously singing Kunbya? LOL, the idiots of the world unite under the banner of these retards!!! Portland was my city of birth and I now live and will continue to live in Virginia, any questions why? LOL, retards.

  • not urban camping. occupying.

  • @nothingatfacevalue They're making my commutes to work worse than they usually are......

  • Go home, Occupy potesters! You are only causing more problems, not offering a sollution. The idea that tax payers are paying for your "movement" infuriates many.

  • Fair and balanced reporting.
