Bacevich discusses Americans' dull acceptance of the Afghan war (unlike Vietnam which had a draft, few Americans now feel they have a personal stake), how we are repeating LBJ's Vietnam mistakes, how this is the second most expensive war since WW2, and that the United States has neither the wisdom nor the means to direct the Middle East

  • It's scary how much sense Mr. Bacevich makes when referring to lessons we should have learned from the past. Equally scary is how most people "just don't give a &$#t" about the current state of our foreign affairs. Bravo, Mr. Bacevich! I hope that someday soon more people will understand what a mess we're in.

  • Come home.

  • Man, that was painful.

Bacevich's statements. Those shots of Kerry's face. I can't believe the media didn't have a firestorm over this. That may sound naive, but--although they ignore any substantive arguments against the war and especially from veterans, like Iraq Veterans Against the War--you know those bastards love controversy.

  • @MR2Di4 If you think it's scary that we haven't learned any lessons from the past, then imagine how scared you will be when you find out every war in history is a sham and the only lesson to be learned is that this country "send it poor and working people to kill poor and working people in other countries to make the rich, richer" (Mike Prysner). Imagine how scared you will be when you find out 9/11 was an inside job and have been planned years before.(Defense Planning Guidance PNAC look it up

  • Kerry sold his soul a long time ago.

  • Just come home and protect us from domestic enemies.
