I think Yoko saw Julian as a potential competitor for Sean's share of the Lennon legacy and she's done everything in her power to keep Julian out of it.

No, it's Julian and Cynthia who were the class act. Yoko treated Julian like utter crap and he never lashed out at her like he could have. Yoko did everything she could to keep John and Julian apart. She screened John's calls and often didn't let Julian talk to John. She told Julian he could choose one of John's guitars to keep but when he picked one that meant something to him she said "no" and gave him 2 guitars that meant nothing to him. She is heartless.
