Antonio Margarito on Handwrap Controversy

"Until the California commissions investigation is completed, and definitive proof produced, responsible members of the boxing community should cease and desist from assuming that proof has somehow already been obtained. And if the accusations in the Mosley fight are indeed proven, people need to remember that this does not prove that it occurred in other fights. Unless definitive evidence emerges that illegal substances were present in prior fights, Margarito and his camp should be assumed to have done nothing wrong, and those victories should not be irresponsibly called into question. Furthermore, if Margarito is cleared of wrongdoing in the Mosley fight, that should be the end of the matter. The evidence is not yet in - boxing fans should not rush to judgment."

Truthfully, many Mexican and Mexican-Americans are upset with Margarito. In fact, on Spanish network television, he has been called a few derogatory names nationwide. Whether he did this intentionally or not, he lost tons of fan base.

So I dont know where you got your info. that Mexicans are proud of this guy.

But in the end, Margarito takes harder shots than he actually gives...He got this far by using his Cranium and Jawbone, and I dont think they were loaded. Good luck to him anyway.

I think he cheated with cotto.And not just with cotto since the lost to paul williams.Thats when he started to use it. Look at cotto face it never gets like that .Anyone who seen cotto hurt it just a cut over the  top of his eye.Another thing cotto was hitting that nigga with bricks and shane ko his ass come on think about it. Cotto has a way stronger punch then shane. If margarito whent down then i can say he beat cotto.

You're probably right...i can't think of any culture in this world that would tolerate someone who cheats to harm someone else...let alone someone who has no remorse.

But the fact remains, Margarito still says "he fights for the mexican people".

What does that say about mexican people.

heres the thing every always says he was crying etc afterwards but he knew he had ruined his career and there was a very good possibilitt he wouldnt fight again.if you pay close attention margarito said are we ok to the trainer the trainer said yes we are ok dont worry we are always ok.fishy stuff then when you see vid of the fight around round 8/9 tonys corner ask him how his hits are feeling and he says "no se"which means dont know then he unleahes a vicious left handed attack.the plasteredone

The guy can definitely take a hit, but there was a time when Margarito was known, and feared as a devastating puncher, and ever since the whole hand wrapped controversy came to light, he hasn't punched anyone out like he used to.
