Moon Park was built in 1973 in Anaheim California. In the early years it was called RatTown and then later dubbed Sadlands in the 80's by Neil Blender, as kind of a spoof on Badlands. The park was full of cement banks, pillars, planters, trails, tunnels and of course the crater. It was a challenge to skate with all the obstacles in the way. Many pro skaters grew up skating here, and it was a destination for a lot of skateboarders visiting Southern California. Two years after this video was filmed the city of Anaheim destroyed the craters.

I grew up skating Sadlands from about 1976 until about 1987.
I quit skating for about 15yrs, (I missed out on the whole 1990's small wheels/ baggy pants flippidy trick years) I moved to Portland Oregon, Skatepark Capitol of the World in 03 and I was hooked all over again. All I can say is take care of your skate spots, and if you don't have one, find a good place to build your own DIY. Skating is Golden!
