Trim provides further proof of his status as one of the Grime games finest, initiating his new mixtape series with Vol.1of 'Monkey Features'. This is the evolution of Trim's hardcore sound, shifting to a broader sonic palette including beats from Radioclit, Ballistiq Beats and Cherry Stones. Most noticeably, compared to most other Grime mixtapes and albums these days, Trim doesn't rely on a slew of special guests, well, apart from Riko on the stealthy 'Trousers Remix' anyway. Radioclit give up a cartoonishly cool riddim for 'Skank' and the healthy amount of raw riddims from Jerzy Productions and Johnny Skeng keep the sound much closer to road than the clubby direction taken by most other in the scene. Crucially unique.
