PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION......
This video was shot by a friend of mine (Steve Slayton) who was the engineer. The brakeman or the guy on the ground, and that you hear on the radio is yours truly.
The job was to take the covered hopper to Solvay Plastics on the west side of Adrian, Michigan. The engine is a GP9, A&B #1752. It was built for the Central of Vermont and ran as their #4554. The dynamic brakes have been removed, but the blister is still there. Since this video #1752 has been repainted in A&B's green and yellow lightning strip paint scheme.
Because of the switch arrangement the cars going to Solvay must be pushed to the plant with the brakeman riding the front end of the car.
The track being run on was built for Lake Shore & Michigan Southern, than part of Michigan Central, New York Central, Penn Central, Conrail, Lenawee County RR, and the line was bought by the Adrian & Blissfield RR in the early 1990's.
