  • Omg I had so many nightmares about the nashkel mines (I was in 5th grade and played this at nighttime). I blame the creepy music and the kobold commandos shooting flaming arrows in my gut as soon as I turned the corner. I even remember giving up for at least a month and going exploring elsewhere because I thought it was just some optional dungeon. Heck, even after I beat it I thought it was optional. Shows how amazingly well this game was built.

  • Why can't we get games of this standard anymore? I'll pay $200 to relive the Baldur's Gate experience...heck $300

  • They don't make games like this anymore!

  • @judicatordex I hate to think that it has to do with D&D, but it probably does. I may be a bit of a wussy if I'd rather let the computer game handle the rules instead of a RL dungeon master with pen-and-paper. I'm sorry dude, but it's just too complicated for a person to understand how combat works or interacting with NPCs. If I tell someone that they have to roll a certain number for their THAC0 based on this-and-that, he would look at me like I've lost my mind!

  • Gawd, Nashkel Mines. At the time, i was making a 'no deaths' playthrough, and had Xzar and Montaron in my party. Their HP sucked so much a single arrow took them down to near death, and then the kobolds came in groups... Good thing Khalid and Jahiera were around.

And then my party members attacked each other because i was playing goodie two shoes. *sighs*

But yeah, loved every second i played this game. Still have it installed too, i should replay it next week ^^

  • @judicatordex confirmation that not everything can be bought for money =)

  • Best RPG-series ever. Possibly the best game series overall as well... Every new C-RPG has to stand up to Baldur's Gate, but no one has yet come close to the depth and scope of the games. Awesome to play in multiplayer with some friends as well :)

  • Haha, yeah I remember playing Baldurs gate 2 when I was around 5 and not having a clue what I was doing. I must have heard Irenicus say "Ah, the child of Bhaal has awoken" twenty odd times.

  • @Terlin1466 well like I said, I was in 5th grade... it was my first RPG ever, and I had no concept of level grinding or patient preparation. :-) But yeah, those sewers were creepy... but to me, not as much as the catacombs beneath Candlekeep. Doppelgangers... yikes.

  • @mrchuckmorris really? I always kinda cheated a bit and adventured off in other places so this place would be easy by the time I got to it. The Sewers in BG is what creeped me out the most.

  • @judicatordex we need to stop waiting for this to happen and make the games our selfs. But we need investors :-)

  • @judicatordex word
