In this video, you get a more detailed look on how to build your own masking system for a fixed frame projection screen.

You can use the system to make a CIW masking system, that will make your 16:9 screen a 1:2.35 screen.

The main features are:
- low cost
- uses standard components
- is electric
- has velvet masking for a projected image with more impact

Glad you liked the videos. In part 3, I have inidicated a few options as to where you can get the parts. Otherwise, I can supply them as well, but if that's worth it, depends on where you are. If it's far away from where we're based, shipping becomes an issue due to the cost.

The parts themselves aren't that expensive, the spring (in the lower tube) and the motor in the upper tube are the most expensive parts.

I'll provide more details in reply to the e-mail you sent me.

  • Where do you get all the parts?

    Great solution and great vid.

  • You're welcome!

  • Thank you !
