Fernando VII awarded him the Duchy of Ciudad Rodrigo with Grandee of Spain, dated 01/30/1812. This title is maintained to this day his descendant Arthur Valerian Wellesley. He was also granted the rank of Captain General of the Royal Spanish Army.
