  • @R8films Shearer was in his prime too, but was injured for just about the whole qualifying campaign.

  • @twistedsistaqteu He always comes across well with his football knowledge. He had a poor bunch to pick from. "Carlton"?

  • @R8films i actually thought the music was spot on for this vid.

i was one of the few ppl who felt sorry for graham taylor, he just didnt get the rub of the green imo

  • @seankinsellasean later in the game the same play happened with holland so it balanced out

  • @seankinsellasean One of the biggest fallacys in football. I'm still SEETHING about it to this day. Taylor had questionable tactics as England manager but he was also totally screwed over during that away game in Holland.

  • Phil Fucking Neal....now there was a man completely out of his depth...didn't have a clue...yes boss, no boss, whatever you say boss.

  • @Mikez4

Taylor was tactically one-dimensional...full back punts it up to areas which either Shearer or Ferdinand will attack....midfield's only role in a Taylor team was to retrieve the second ball....it's no surprise that more cultured footballers like Clough struggled to make an impact when the ball spends 90& of the time above his head....Taylor was also very stubborn & refused to change his philosophy....

Even though he's a nice guy, let's not forget this...

  • @Mikez4 Indeed, I am not sure what the alternatives at the time were to those players. Lineker was not the same player, Gazza always injured.
