Spore- Space- Protoplanetary Disk

This is the first 'oddity' I encountered in the Space stage of Spore. When you visit it you get a post of your discovery in your trophy bin. I thought it was so cool looking that it had to be put in a video.

what's it for? can you fly into it?

No, you can't fly into it. There really isn't a use for them in the game except for completing the 'become a scientist' mission in space stage.

Its a forming star. The red clouds are clouds of hydrogen and the glowing ball in the center is a big ball of very hot mass & matter slowly rotating around itself. That is the same way our sun was made too.

@bsgcylon86 which could more simple be put that they are not seen directly, but that we see them through their absence, something that happens quite a lot in astronomy.
