Pierce was the greatest Honky Tonker that ever lived... with all due respect to the great Hank Thompson.
His independent streak and business acumen did him in with the Nashville establishment. He was well-off enough not the have to put up with the politics.
'There Stands the Glass" may be the best, pure drinkin' song ever recorded. It's pure misery with his nasal tone. Pure gold.

Webb could never be considered gay. He was certainly a mans man. Webb just like flashy stuff, a guitar shaped pool, cadillacs, flashy dress. I understand he was a partying type and love to spend like a sailor. Kind of full of himself, a little over confident cocky

0:57, is it just me, or does it look like Don Helms is on the steel guitar on "Cowtown"?

I'd google on a performer, or better, Willie Nelson, and go from there.
Enjoy our Country Music... it is varied.

How bout them 70s threads man? Almost as flashy as the old nudie suits from the 50's.

What's all this about Webb being "extreme in his ways," "overly flamboyant," etc.?
Is that the wording they would use to say that he was gay?

My dad was in Korea War and he said Webb was the man back in his day. I am a Pierce but not rich like Webb was. I heard he was a little extreme in his ways
