The blond girl named Mina is synonymous for The Netherlands. Mina has a heart of barbed wire (as a saying) so the soldiers can never conquer her fortress (her heart). The soldiers try to get to her heart but Mina only smiles at them and stays Neutral.

In WWII The Netherlands tried to stay neutral like in WW I. At the beginning of the war they succeeded in doing this, but on the 10th of May 1940 the Germans yet invaded The Netherlands and occupied the country for 5 years.

Goran, soortgenoot van me, Nederlanders en Duitsers zijn grosso modo gelijk : we spreken hetzelfde Germaanse dialect en zien er hetzelfde uit, tenzij we ons hebben vermengd met één van de inwijkelingen waarvan horden ons de laatste decennia hebben overspoeld. Onze Blonde Mientje is een zusje van "jullie" Vrouw Antje. @Lieblingsfachful Blonde Mientje in this case probably meens Queen Wilhelmina of The Netherlands. Mientje is short for Wilhelmina.

@Cyberno1977 If I remember my history correctly the Germans also threatened to bomb Rotterdam to the ground if the Netherlands didn't surrender. And after the treaty was signed, they did it anyways.
