@gabuchia Just cked your channel. What's new?

@vidigod Yes. Good point. I listen to snake oil sellers all the time. I am lucky. I can determine scheisters, most of the time. But, I don't want anyone to censor me. Would you want to be censored?

@Svidrigailoff There are 10s of 1000s of educational vids on line where the producers ask and expect nothing in return. Sal Kahn has not integrated one of those quality vids into any of the educational series on his site. Yes, his site. Time to make an open education video site. Yes. About 10000 of them to start to make a dent in the dogma of educational systems. Sal is a good man. He's done good things but he is only one man ignoring the efforts of 1000s equally good.

@fob199 Yes. Well. You might be right. I learned a long time ago that people don't really listen very well.

@MistaFranko Funny you should ask. :) Take a look at my 3000+ videos. There are 150+ math videos to start plus quite a few computer how tos for people who are curious. Enjoy!

Wait, I don't understand why people are disliking this video. Pleabargain isn't bashing Khan. He is congratulating him. Furthermore, he is in support Sal's idea of the Khan Academy's approach to teaching and learning. He is questioning how we as a world, can do it faster.
Also, the Khan Academy Translation Project is a big thing and The Khan Academy are looking for individuals to translate his videos into different languages!
There are translation projects at the Khan Academy, maybe you should have scanned the site better. (I wonder if you did).
About the comment about publishing the ideas, homeworks and etc, there are are attempts to widen the information available at organizations like MIT OCW, iTunes U and many others. But there should be more and I agree on that.

@Platemaster I knew the site fairly well, back then. Moved on when word took more time. I am not independently wealthy as some. There are lots of good sites and good people producing good educational materials. My question, "Why aren't they being integrated en masse? Why isn't it a requirement in teacher training schools to make your chops online first?" Just some simple questions.

You should DO instead of ordering or suggesting. Do not ask for something. Do it!

@frederickriemann Clearly you didn't look at my videos.

Well, what I think is in a way Sal is unique in his approach and not every teacher is or will be able to replicate what he is doing. I think the quality aspect also matters. Khan academy has a certain reputation for quality and one cannot put a label of Khanacadamy on just about any lecture. It is not as simple. I do watch videos made by Sal because I GET them, the material becomes understandable, it is about his manner of explaining things. Will it be the same with other teachers, I am not sure

@arev1977 Interesting point. So teachers are failing to deliver. So, should they be teaching? Why isn't there a live feedback mechanism in classrooms where people can listen and say, "Hey, that is dumming down the class." or "Why are they all doing the same thing?" That is so 1700s. But, that is what school looks like today, except when its online and that is what Kahn Academy shows. A different way of doing things. Yet, few teachers or schools are taking that lead. Why?
