  • This is necessary to check if the sponge filer will be blocked. You can use only the tubes to withdraw the water. You can use things to screen the U-tubes to avoid the fry from leaving the container. The slow flow is sufficient for new small fry. The contraption is on the internet.

  • This is homemade. You need to float a container in your aquarium To keep the container floating, you might use styrofoam or wooden objects tied to the container. Then, I use a sponge filter to direct water out. To refill, I use 2 U-tubes filled with water. As the water level drops from the sponge filter exiting the water, the unbalance will be filled by the syphon action of the U-tubes.
