By request... Dwightfan -- here you go! This is Marilyn McCoo singing the title track from the 1983 RCA album called "Solid Gold". Kind of an extended version of the theme, but a little different musically. Video contains stills of lots of performers who were on Solid Gold over the years. Music arranged and produced by Solid Gold's musical director, Michael Miller.

  • You no talent female singers of today (and there are many) take note. This is a lady, this is a singer, and this someone who delivers the goods, why? because she HAS the goods to deliver!

  • I love this lady. She's terrific!

  • It time for a Solid Gold comeback to TV or

It's time for a SOLID GOLD movie adaption.

They call it SOLID GOLD THE MOVIE! The sequels can be called SOLID GOLD RETURNS! AND SOLID GOLD: FOREVER!

They voice-over teaser trailer could something like this ... The lights, The music, the latest dance routines to the top-ten countdown ... Aaah! What it must've been like to have been on Solid Gold and to have been a SOLID GOLD dancer.

  • @MsTexas73 I agree with you there - without the "Solid Gold" dancers & Robert W. Morgan, you just don't have a show! Yes, John Harlan & Charlie O'Donnell were good announcers, but they were more suited for game shows and Dick Clark Productions than they were for "Solid Gold." I wonder why Dionne left the second time in the first place though? She seemed to be doing a great job that year!

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan Right...thanks..Yeah...when she left she went and did the soap opera "Days of Our LIves" for a year or so then she also did some theater and around this time she began to do her solo tours also. Yeah the later yeas of SG weren't as good as the earlier years...Marilyn was about all that was good about it.

  • @nandoGdog Yes. and she and Billy sang it in concert when I saw them last year...they ROCKED it!

  • @MsTexas73 Yes she did, those shows aren't really worth mentioning though! Rick Dees had the horrible 1984-85 season, Dionne Warwick did the MUCH improved 1985-86 season (first in stereo, and last one worth watching), and Marilyn did the seasons from 1986-88. She wasn't the reason for the show sucking though, as most of the original Solid Gold dancers were gone, as well as announcer Robert W. Morgan.

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan Didn't she also host it like in 87...I know she left for about a year...and Dionee hosted again...then Marilyn came back.

  • @nandoGdog She did from 1981 to 1984. In 1981-82 with Andy Gibb, and 1982-83 with Rex Smith, and 1983-84 alone.

  • @musicvideosrock4me Dionne is related to Whitney Houston but not Marilyn McCoo

  • This was on free TV.
