As you will see in this video, most Japanese properties - residential and commercial - have no need for protective security.
There is a respect for other peoples' property that makes theft and shop-lifting an unusual crime.
Kohnan is a group of chain stores that specialises in DIY handyman, hardware, and building products, as well as the day-to-day home necessities.
I believe a lot more petty theft goes on than you are suggesting as well as burglary and opportunity crime. People want cash not bags of compost from Konan

That parking lot is cleaner than my hotel room and unfortunately I'm not joking.

I'm glad to see you still posting videos i really enjoy them. I like the approach of your filming, it seems to have something that other vlogs about japan lack. But I can't quite place my finger on it, Maybe its just the simple approach to daily things like a hair cut or a walk to town that I enjoy seeing how things are in japan and not just in the movies or television. I hope you will post a video about that hardware store. Oh how I want to move to japan. Keep at it.
