  • holy crap. You got skills. Wish you would have put in sound though. Just some music would have been cool. The raptors looked just like the ones in the movie.

Look, you are still going by the technical definition.

Do the characters in Terminator 2 look real? Then they are photo-realistic CGI.

There are more than just morphing used in Terminator 2. The T-1000 shape-shifting was NOT a puppet.

The more and more you talk, the more you prove you never were in the SFX industry.

  • @Draknfyre T2 didn't and couldn't do due to the fact ILM done the computer effects for t2 and ILM hadn't nailed photo realistic cgi yet

it bugged them so much they went on to try and prove there worth to Hollywood spelburg wasnt sure and was going to go for stop motion puppets and mix them with the full life size one winstone made , by he went with there cgi when they made a copy of a photograph on completely by computer for first time (todays photoshoping )

  • @Draknfyre WERE AS JP used images solely made on computer with on shots of actors/still /stand in's or human involvement in the use to make the image ,the movement of the image the interaction on the background and its shadows were all computer generated made on computer and done by the computers program making them the first cgi photo -realistic images to be seen

  • @Draknfyre well its at technical effects so yes i will go into the technology and softwear. the effects in T2 used Morphing taking two images or series of images and finding similarities between and blending them the images weren't made by the computer (The CGI used was used to remove things rather add in things)a mix of green screen n blue screen which used the with stills of the real actors not CGI

and as for the sliver shape shifting was done by use of puppetry and puppet props

  • @ryanartist88

You are getting bogged down into the technical definition of "photorealistic CGI." If the CGI is realistic to the point where it's not obviously a rendered object, i.e. it could be confused for a practical effect, it's photo realistic.

Terminator 2 employed CGI like that.

  • @ryanartist88

Again, forgive me if I don't buy the fact that someone supposedly did computer SFX when they compare CGI to Java, a programming language which has nothing to do with CGI. Especially considering you said Jurassic Park used it. I believe you are confusing it with SGI. Not Java.
