After a young woman (Emmy Rossum) denies her deranged love (Gerard Butler), his obsession for her takes over. A terrible accident befalls Christine, causing her to suffer amnesia. She forgets her past as she knew it and begins anew.
The Phantom on the other hand can not let go of his recent loss, nor will he ever. He uses Christine's current state to delude her into falling in love with him. But as time passes, he becomes increasingly violent, causing Christine and her lover Raoul (Patrick Wilson) to fear for their lives.
She will be unable to escape the whispers of her past.

** Mary (Scarlett Johanson) is a prostitute. She will become one of the main characters in the series **
** Raoul has NO knowledge of the phantom or Christine's former life. He is apart of her NEW life **
** Amnesia is a word for memory loss **

@CiarBoppySinging I made up my own story using the Phantom of the Opera characters. Mary is a prostitute whom Erik sleeps with and he calls her "Christine" and pretends Mary is Christine because he himself can't have the real Christine. Mary ends up falling in love with Erik.
