Actually, for another playthrough if u insist on the ritual and fight Zathrian then he will submit and agree to it and die peacefully and the elves will still side with u and u will get credit for helping the elves even so.

if you go with the wolfs you fight zathrian and when you almost kill him he gives up and breaks the curse and comes to your side

@nickofmillertime Don't be so sure. An elven brood mother spawns elven darkspawn no? You may not count them as such, but some people do and the answer isn't that obvious. In the end, everyones opinion is valid although last time i checked, i wanted TOEGOFF's opinion, since he was the one who came with the whole "help the elves" idea.

@147258502 No they are darkspawn, spawned from a elven brood mother. They aren't elves.
*facepalm*

Ur party really blows dude

@Toegoff what if he was a shriek? they are darkspawned elfs, and with the Architect's help you may have encountered an intalligent one. will he count as a darkspawn or an elf? O_o

@cherrilarp my 1st playthrough I sided with the wolves

The werewolves didn't attack you first, Zathrian simply convinced you into attacking them first! Not the most sensible choice in my opinion, I would have defended Zathrian only if the werewolves had started the attack.

it's easy to second-guess someone when you KNOW what else could have happened. toegoff did what he thought best at the time, which is all anyone can do. it's called RP, folks... complaining because someone didn't 'do it right' is missing the point of the game, to me.
too bad there's not a 'let's play' of life, we'd get all the achievements.

So there's really no way you could get an army of werewolves? Since killing the werewolves wouldn't leave any werewolves left, and almost-killing Zathrian lifts the curse, so that they're no longer werewolves...
So if Zatherian was a darkspawn you would go on his side? >.>

@Degitalxxxde3trgfXXX The argument defeats itself. If he was a dark spawn...he wouldn't be an elf. If he wasn't an elf, I wouldn't have sided with him

I would've picked the wolves for three reasons:
A final battle with them by my side would be epic.
The elves have a chance of still being friendly.
It would've been easier to take care of the elf with an army of wolves, instead of fighting that army.
Shame that they're out.

The wolves could still be bitter. They've been cursed for a good long time. Perhaps now as truly thinking beings and not as savage, they could form an actual plan against the elves. They could also turn on me in the final battle when the blood rage hits.
The elves might also lose hope. Remember, they believed the keeper discovered ancient magic long lost to the culture. Does this help to inspire them? When they find out it's a lie, would they crumble?
