Selena- I don't know, no. I don't think that Miley will appreciate me hogging all the attention. She'll pull another stunt and it probably won't even be nice like the last one.
Nick- Well.
Selena- No. Thanks, but no.*closes her locker, walks away*
Nick-*sighs, goes to class*
Selena's POV...
I appreciate Nick asking me, thinking of reasons why we should, but no. I can't really go because it'll bring back some more memories and just no. I sat down next to Vanessa.
Vanessa- What happened?
Selena- Still bugging about the dance.
Vanessa- I don't see why you wouldn't go. I mean, have you've been at any dance?
Selena- No because something always comes up. No, I can't really think of the last dance I went to.
Vanessa- The last dance you went to was the Father/Daughter dance.
Selena-*rolls her eyes* Don't you dare remind me. We should just drop it right there.
Vanessa- Whatever, but you shouldn't really base all dances on that one.
Selena- Well say thanks for my scumbag of a dad.*looks through her papers*
Vanessa-*sighs, starts doing her work*
Later that day, Vanessa was walking through the hall, Nick caught up to her...
Nick- Hey.*turns her around*
Vanessa- What are you doing?
Nick- Do you know a reason why Selena wouldn't wanna go the dance with me?
Vanessa- Because she doesn't wanna go, it's that obvious.
Nick- But there's always a reason behind it. I don't wanna have her stay home anymore.
Vanessa- You expect me to think that you've changed?
Nick- You're still new, basically. This is your second or third day here.
Vanessa- I know, don't even worry about it thanks. Look, I don't know Selena's reason why she doesn't wanna go. We're two different people, hello.
Nick- I know that, but you're her best friend. What's going on?
Vanessa- I don't know, you're gonna have to ask Selena.*walks away*
Nick-*rolls his eyes, walks away*
Selena-*putting books inside her locker*
Demi-*walks up to her* Hey, are you sure you're not going to the dance? I heard the school was setting up this new band and it's "supposedly" awesome.
Selena- Nice to know, but I'll just hear them on Youtube then. I don't really think that I'm gonna be able to come out anyway.
Demi- What's your excuse this time?
Selena- Mother/Daughter night or day, whichever comes first. I'll plan something with her and that way I won't have to come.
Demi- You're really desperate to not coming. Wow.
Selena- Yeah, I know right? But I'm serious, I don't really wanna go and if I tell Nick about me and my mom, he'll back out.
Demi- But what if I tell him that you're lying?
Selena- Then we're not friends anymore. I have a back-up plan to everything, duh! But you wouldn't, would you?
Demi- Of course not, but the dances are sometimes fun. You can't possibly keep avoiding them.
Selena- No, I'm not coming that's final. You're gonna have to strap me down onto the hood of the car and make me go.
Demi- That could be arranged.
Selena-*chuckles* No thank you. Plus, it's like three or four days away, I don't even have a date.
Demi- Me and Vanessa will be glad to take you. It'll be like a girl's night out.
Selena- No, thank you. Now stop asking me. I got other issues to deal with.
Demi- May I ask?
Selena- I have to find a way for Miley not to get ahold of me at any given moment. She'll be coming around and making smart remarks and plans.
Demi- Oh you're right, we might be all marked for death. She shoulda saw this coming, no one likes her.
Selena- That's sweet, but I'm really on the "Totally Dead" list.
Demi- Whatever, she'll get over it. I'm gonna get to lunch, I'll see you later. Consider, Sel.*leaves*
Selena's POV...
I finished getting my books inside and getting them ready for the next period and everything. I can't believe everyone wanna keep asking me if I wanna go to this dance. I don't wanna go. If they're not asking me, they're high-fiving me about beating Miley's ass in the bathroom. I meant to mention that earlier, but it all goes in a circle. Dance to high-fiving to Miley, back to dance to high-fiving then to Miley. This dance is also getting long, but I don't really complain about it.
After school, in Selena's room...
Selena-*doing homework*
Nick-*comes in* Hey.
Selena- I don't wanna go to the damn dance, ok!?
Nick-*confused* I wasn't even gonna ask you anymore. I can see we got on your nerves about it.
Selena-*rolls her eyes* You think?
Nick-*sits down on her bed* I'm really shocked that you don't wanna go though.
Selena- Well I don't. Dances are lame and they're never good.
Nick- I'm also shocked that you keep saying that and thinking it's true. I can't hear straight when you say that.
Selena- Well be in my shoes and things.
