  • The engine of our three priestmans was a 6 cylinder Dorman, but one of they had a Barreiros engine

  • The Engine in this Priestman Lion is a Caterpillar. I drove it last week and it still handles well and sounds great.

  • God I love vintage machines, have you got any videos of the Euclid scraper. Dose she have a 2 stroke engine.

  • Hello, The only video I have of the Euclid scraper is whats on this site. The engine is a Leyland 680 Diesel, If my memory serves. If you're interested the next "Vintage Working Day" at Abbey Farm is on February 22nd. 2009. If you would like any further information feel free to contact me.

  • Men, you're a lucky man!! In the past i had a priestman lion, but i need to sell him =(

    Sorry my bad english

  • The Priestman Lion in this video has a Caterpillar Diesel engine as it's power unit. We think it's a Cat 32-50 but not sure.

The Leyland 680 engine I refered to was in a Euclid Scraper that another chap asked me about. I hope this is helpful.

  • There are at least two Priestman cranes in regular use in my area: Mistley Quay and Forwarding has a Tiger with high-rise cab in use, and has recently acquired a Lion which hasn't entered service yet, and Mr. Patient, a shipwright at Maldon has a crane; a Buffalo, I think he said. Both have Dorman power and sound delightful. There are also a couple of preserved Cubs.

  • hi,next time im over,il contact you for your location.

i would luv a cheap mustang 120 to renovate but the shipping cost would be a fortune.

  • Hi Steve, Thanks for the kind comments. I'm really pleased that someone who worked at Priestman's appreciates the restoration work we put into these old Navvies. We have one of the largest collections of working Priestman machines in the UK; based at Abbey Farm.

If you ever return to the UK; come and see us

and we'll put on a show.

    regards,

    PriestmanCub.
