You Can't Dance is taken from Rick Nelson's album,"Intakes" on Epic Records in 1977.
The so called "Epic" years was a real transistion for Rick Nelson.
In my opinion,"Intakes" is Rick Nelson's best album ever & probaly one of the most rare Rick Nelson LP's.
Rick only released one album on Epic Records (Intakes)& the following year in 1978,Rick released the single only,"Dream Lover" for Epic Records.
In 1981,Epic Records, for some strange reason, released a 4 song 10 inch mini album as part of Epic's "New Wave" series,"NU-DISK,with the songs....."Lay Back In The Arms Of Someone,Almost Saturday Night,Rave On,That's All Right",which were actually recorded in 1978 along with Dream Lover, for Rick's follow-up album to Intakes on Epic Records.
In late 1977,Rick Nelson hosted The Midnight Special in support of the "Intakes" album & performed several songs from Intakes on that show.
Intakes was produced by Rick Nelson with a lil help from Keith Olsen.
"Stay Young" was a better track. But YCD was good and had a commercial feel about it.

Thanks for posting.
This is the first time I'm hearing this version. I grew up with Jackson Hawke's version on Canadian radio. I've always loved this song. Tim Ryan and Bob Yeoman are great writers.
Have you heard Jackson Hawke's version? It's here on youtube.

This was my favorite single of 1977 and truly one of his best. Of course Rick Nelson almost never made a substandard record, anyway! Truly a classic.
