A little over 50 years, KVIA 7 (as KILT/KELP 13 when the station signed-on the air in 1956) have broadcasted in analog, along with the other television stations in the El Paso area.
Now today, June 12, 2009, KVIA, as well as many other Television Stations across the country will shut down their analog tier, and broadcast only in digital.
Station Chief Engineer Elias Ventanilla, pulled the plug (pushed the button in their case) at 12 : 33 P.M. MDT. And just like that, Analog TV is history.
R.I.P. Analog. You've served us well over the years.
