don't act, be.

OK, so this video was posted ages ago - just found it though, so to respond - yeah, I feel exactly the same. If I am trying to pass or know that I AM passing to someone in public, I feel this nervousness/pressure to be as masculine as possible simply because of that fear that the person will "change their mind" about my gender... This generally does mean speaking and smiling less, unfortunately... Hopefully T would solve that issue.

sorry for such a late response, but to answer your question, i do act different in public than i naturally do to try not to hinder my passing. I very rarely smile because i havent figured out how to look masculine while i smile, and i do act uptight and im usually just very quiet. i think the biggest thing for me is my voice though, once im on T itll be a lot different because my voice is usually what gives me away

I know this is way late, but after a while on T you don't have to try anymore. The only thing is that might come across as gay, but whatever, right? If you have a deep(er) voice and facial hair, no one is gonna think you're a girl anymore, despite of how you act or not.

i dont act i just AM. natrual.

know how you put into quotations "to be a man" ? well thats it. there isnt one way to be a man... or even women.
but i do know how you feel about being nervouse... thatll pass the more you find yourself. just go outg when you want with the side burns/packing... and dont when youre not feeling up to par.
im sure that once you do youll know if it for you or not.
:) have fun with it
being pre-t I do feel I have to censor how I act. Especially at school, where I am passing as male for the most part. but I think when my voice gets deeper soon,I think my fear at being outed will reduce itself. Ill keep you updated because If all goes according to plan I should have my first T at in a few weeks.

@indy500bo Thanks for the input. it's nice to hear that others have had a similar experience. Good luck with getting your T - I'll be interested to hear how things go for you!
