how do you redock a panel in after effects cs5.5?

@MRBETFANATIC I've not used 5.5 but I'm guessing it's the same as before. You just click and drag the panel in the top left where there are little 'button-like' dots, and make it hover over different areas of the window until yu see some highlighting (purple in previous versions) and drop where you want it.

This took me a while to figure out as well (german keyboard, engl. AE version).
Users of other foreign keyboard layouts will have to rebind the key manually.
In Windows XP it's located "%APPDATA%\Adobe\After Effects\Version\" where the AE(...)Shortcuts.txt file can be edited.
In the shortcuts section of the Adobe help files, there's a link for details on how to do it.

On a US keyboard, the Tilde key is located where the ¬ key is on a UK keyboard, which is why all the American tutorials say to use it.
