I will buy a toyota 10times over before i even look at anything the big 3 have to offer, i would rather not drive a sub par vehicle

Yes, there are recalls, but these problems are minor and are being fixed.
Why is the Toyota steering problem (Corolla) in the news with 100 complaints in 300,000 cars, while no mention is made of the Cobalt steering problem with 1100 complaints and 900,000 cars?
The U.S government is on a witch hunt, that's why.

The U.S. Government owns 61% of Toyota's main domestic competition. They have a major conflict of interest regarding Toyota. A few very minor issues are being blown out of proportion.
