I watched this on PBS back in high school. It was a britcom done with taste because it was more like a dramedy with all sorts of emotion. That is because it was written in a way where it was more than just played for laughs. I think a more recent britcom that could match it is As Time Goes By, which also starred the brilliant Geoffrey Palmer.

Hard to believe this is British Comedy at its best. And they say Americans have no sense of humour.
MASH is 123 times better than this show. I wonder why so many people like to watch a mediocre Sit Com...

@battywattywoo remember the tomorrow people with nicholas. we got it stateside in the early and mid 80's while you guys got it in the seventies..
