Part 2 of 2
Part 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=0nTq31PUtxk
Steals and Spoils: 2,348 gil, Ether, 2,332 gil, Hi-Potion, Elixir
Amdusias was only the first of the 3 battles, and it was the easy one. I never lost to Amdusias, but I did have one where it kept bouncing spells off of Freya and it KOed itself before I had a chance to KO the boys. The next battles are the difficult ones.
Abadon:
This battle starts with just Quina and Steiner. Both of them are immune to its Thundaga, Steiner has Distract and they both have good Evade in case of a physical attack. After two rounds, Zidane will join the party, at which time Abadon is healed. So there is no point in doing anything until then. What's difficult about this battle is Abadon's High Wind. This move will KO the party, and it's not above using this move twice in a row, which could mean game over before Zidane even gets a chance to join. If Abadon doesn't abuse High Wind, the battle is won with a Limit Glove and an attack from Zidane.
This battle was all of perfect. If Abadon doesn't open with High Wind, Steiner can self-KO and hopefully in the next round Abadon will KO Quina, who will auto-life. That way, when Zidane joins the party I can immediately use Limit Glove. Despite Steiner missing, Abadon did everything just right.
Zidane levels up to 22 and gains all of his max stats.
Shell Dragon:
It's Zidane vs Shell Dragon until Zidane goes critical. Then Garnet joins the party and heals him. There is no danger of losing this battle due to Zidane being KOed, and with how long this battle is it's easy to forget that Zidane has an auto-life. So you could think that you are going to self-KO Zidane and have Garnet attack for the win, but then Zidane auto-lifes and Shell Dragon uses Charge and wins. So I take care of Zidane going critical and the auto-life by simply having him self-KO in the beginning. After that, you can only hope that Shell Dragon doesn't Charge/Smash Zidane until you're out of healing items. If Zidane went into trance, I would reset.
This battle lasted a little longer than I would have liked. Reviving Garnet in the middle didn't end up being a waste, but it probably wasn't a good idea seeing as how Shell Dragon could have just used Charge again. However, the first two battles were all of perfect, and asking for all 3 battles to go well is asking for A LOT. The Shell Dragon battle could be made faster by using Lucky Seven, but asking for all 3 battles to go well AND for Lucky Seven to do 7,777 damage is asking for too much in my opinion, although InvincibleGarland did pull that off. Also, I had every intention of having Garnet end the battle with Shiva. I don't plan on keeping the eidolons unflagged. It means that you can't use them, and I like using them. When I would do this battle before, Shell Dragon would either be left with 400ish HP or I would have to use a Hi-Potion on it and it would be left with about 200ish HP, and then Shiva would take it out. It just so happened this time that Zidane's attacks left it with 53 HP. Garnet can do 75ish damage at level 1 with the Magic Racket, and that was just enough to take it out. The only thing that would have messed that up is if her attack missed, thankfully it didn't.
Garnet levels up to 22 and gets all of her max stats.
I had an idea that would have made the Shell Dragon battle much much faster. It involves Zidane's trance bar being full and using Solution 9. To see how this superior version would have gone, go here:

It would involve me going back to before going through Terra and getting in a fight with some weak monsters. I might simulate it at some point. But since I've already gotten past this last difficult part of the game, I think I'll just move on.
These were the last battles for Garnet and Amarant, so I take their equipment before saving. The party of Zidane, Steiner, Freya and Quina will be my party for the remainder of the game.
Total FMV Time: 31:24
Adjusted Save Time: 10:07:37
Guide Time: 10:50:01
I should point out that these battles are much easier if Zidane takes Tantarian's Exp, so the Lucky Seven strategy much more reasonable.

Good point.

Not only the music is stupendous, but I'm surprrise that you went through so much while their health is very low. I'll admit, you're good!

Thanks. :-) You'd be surprised how long you can go with low health. I go through almost all of disc 4 up to getting Excalibur II with low health.
