Your first analogy is not entirely applicable to the situation, as employing an illegal alien is more comparable to selling bullets to someone on a shooting spree than to selling candy to a murderer. Of course illegal immigration isn't anywhere near the seriousness of murder, but I'm sure you see how the analogy works: the bullet vendor/employer of illegal immigrants ensures the continuance of those crimes respectively. Employers of illegal immigrants are accessories to that crime.
