Lol you can kick just learn how to kick the proper way. This instructor never said not to kick kicking is one of the most useful ways to keep distance during a fight. Kicking is good for anyone short armed people or long armed people just focus on hitting with your shin and not your foot when you kick. It is also dumb to attempt a head kick unless you know what your doing leg kicks will do just fine.
