Here Darryl Digarrnga talks about the Yirritja ceremony Marrnguny, a bunggul-type ritual where a large didgeridoo is used to accompany song and dance. The large didgeridoo is called Giyanggiyang in the Rembarrnga language and it is played with overtone-present style.

Marrnguny is a small black Yirritja catfish with whiskers and sharp spines. It is considered to be dangerous as its spines cause considerable pain if they pierce the skin.

A number of different song subjects are sung about during Marrnguny ceremony including the catfish.

Darryl claims not be know Marrnguny didgeridoo accompaniment as he has not learnt it. Instead, he plays Gunborrk style as taught by his grandfather, the late David Blanasi. An attempt by Darryl to play Bunggul style is found here:
