Performed by Justin Bulava (Hulusi) and Elizabeth Morgan-Ellis (Harp
Composed by Douglas Laustsen
Premiere Performance: Beta Test's "Monsters" program 10/22/2011 at Moonstone Arts Center

Sketched out on a piano overlooking Kezar Lake, Maine (home of Stephen King), the work tries to capture a sort of horrifying allure. Both the Chinese folk instrument the hulusi and the harp have a sort of sweet sound, so I tried to use them in a way to suggest the sweetness was not all on the up and up.
