On the left, I have an IPA brewing, it's almost exactly a week into primary. SG=1.062, White Labs Cali Ale yeast w/ a 1 pint starter.

On the right I have an American Brown Ale. It's almost exactly 24 hours into primary. SG=1.060, White Labs British Ale yeast w/ a 1 pint starter. (not London like I say in the video...)

It's not a pure 'apples to apples' comparison, but it's interesting to see the Temperature DIFFERENCE between the two fermentations based only on them being in different stages of fermentation.

  • I would think that the temp is diffrent because the other one is younger, its all out active and produces more heat, the week old one is settling down and finishing, and while its doing so cools off a bit.
