my own interpretation - different from standards in speed and some chords.
The "disharmonic" end is by purpose. Please listen to the complete song before adding a comment. Thank you.

  • Wow! I like your interpretation very much, especially the deep notes of the accordion and the changes of speed and mood!

  • @vollkornflocke

    Thank you !

I'm happy if you understand my interpretation and what I try to express by my playing. This is not always easy to do, not simple to show - and I really need to be within the right mood deep inside, need silence and relaxation, inspiration around me to play like this (not every day's job).

Changes in speed, mood - variation - yes, this is very important to me and I hate to play boring and always the same way. I guess my accordion fits perfectly for Klezmer.

  • Very poignant and moving. Well done.

  • @chrisdxuk

Thanks for your comment... playing "poignant" and "moving" was my aim... glad you like it.

  • You're right. I'm oversensitive by this subject, this is really beautifull song i and nice interpretation. thans a lot.

Hi, you probably misunderstood my answer. You are absolutely right - this song was written originally at a completely different time under completely different circumstances...

    I just wanted to ADD:

    - it is still as valid and emotional as it was,

    - people didn't learn much from history and they still repeat history in the bad way

I mean: when playing or singing Klezmer, one should consider the origin, circumstances, history, background, emotional content, "message".

Time, things, persons will change - but will people ever change "inside" ? History repeats: wars, killing, genocide allover the world, even religions are still fighting against each others. We search for better weapons, no matter what believe we share. Have times REALLY changed ? We are still blind for others. We all should read history books, listen the songs - and learn, not repeating it. THIS is one of the most impressive Klezmer songs, not written for history !

  • Tak właśnie było, gdy powstała ta piosenka... It is true about this time, when the song has been written.
