  • @141cbc Why speculate on whay woudve been bro? Gavaskar was a great, so was miandad, chappell n many others. And so are Lara and Tendulkar. Apart from records, bowlers like McGrath, Warne, Donald have called him the best they bowled to. I think it has just become fashionable to berate him. Let us just enjoy these legends without comparing them.Cricket would undoubtedly be poorer without them. Calling him 'MEDIOCRE' is just unjustified spite.

  • sachin would have struggled against the vast range of quality bowlers Gavaskar played so well...even Pedro Collins made Sachin his bunny..fact of the matter is the ONLY world-class bowler Sachin has dominated is Warne - against the rest, he has been overall MEDIOCRE. Gavaskar was far far better...and remember he had no Bangla or Zimbabwe to boost his records against.....and not the plethora of patta wickets, fast outfields...and no bouncer-restrictions...

  • @r8rdarklord watch his 129 in Perth in 80s - on the fastest pitch on the planet..

  • @r8rdarklord.I tend to disagree.Miandad did reasonably well against the Australian duo of Lillee,Thompson and the1988 WI Tour proves he had the technique. As to why he had an ordinary record against WI one needs to understand that in 1991 his backache lead him to be dropped by Imran for the 92 WC having scored 23 runs in 3 innings and in 1993,he was wrongly stripped off captaincy, extremely grieved in his own words and he managed only 120 in 5 innings.Take these out of equation and its reasonable

  • @Imrankniazi Drop Miandad from the list and I will agree. Miandad couldn't play extreme pace.

  • what rubbish u speak about gavaskar who has been the most elegant batsman & even th emost courageous...sachin to uske age bachcha hai

  • @7777777simon Fuck Off

  • classical innings it was !!!

  • Agreed Gavaskar was more technically correct....but it is not Sachin's fault that we do not have the bowlers of the class who bowled to Gavaskar now. Who knows Sachin might have also figured out how to tackle such bowlers if he had a chance.....we need to compare contemporaries and not players from different era's....

  • Sunil is definitely a better player of pace bowling than Tendulkar. The best tendulkar faced was Shoaib, Akram and Mcgrath and he struggled against them or was pretty mediocre against them.

Sunil faced the best fast bowlers of all time and scored tons of runs against them and also had the guts to go against them with just skull cap and standing 5ft 3 inches
