I remember the day exactly. The day I turned 8 years old. They day I met three people who changed my life.

I was sitting in my house,, blowing out birthdhay candles on my pink barbie birthday cake while my mom and dad sang to me.

All my reletives were there. Dressed up. My mom had set my birthday party as a kinda little tea party thing. With little pink and green flowers and little tea cups. I hated it. I know eight year old girls were supposed to love playing with barbies and wearing pink frilly dresses. But not this girl. My mom help my hand as I Sliced the first peice of cake. I looked out the window when I heard a low honk of a truck horn. I saw 5 people step out of a mini--van. They were moving into the house next to mine.

The first two people were an older man and woman. They looked like they were parents of children.
"O joy,, more little girls my mom can invite over to play dolls with" I thought to myself.

Next,, a younder boy stepped out. He had tight curls that bounced in the wind as he ran into his house with a GI Joe in his hand. Huge smile accross his cute face. He looked to be about 5 or 6.

Third,, an older boy came out. He had tight curls,, just as the other little boy did. This boy looked MUCH older though. He had glasses too. He looked as if he were 10 or 11 at the time.

Then finnally,, he came out of the van. A boy who looked about my age. He didnt look like the other two boys at all. He had straight hair,, that looked like he had it cut recently. His eyes were as beautiful as the rest of the boys. But he was different. I liked different. I had never met the boy and I already knew I had a crush.

My mom understood the look on my face. She walked over to me and layed her hand on my shoulder
"Later on we can bring them some of your cake,, alright?"
"YES!" I yelled. For once,, I was happy I looked girly and pretty.

Me and my mom walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. And he opened the door. The little boy I had seen earlier with the nice eyes.
"Hi" He said.
"Hi" I said back and smiled.
Then the litte boys parents came to the door. My mom introduced herself and me and they invited us in. My mom gladly took the offer. Shes that kind of person.

Me and the litte boy stood there after my mom walked inside.
"Im Brooklyn Elizabeth Smith" I said.
"Im Joseph Adam Jonas" He replied.
He smiled at me and I noticed he had the same front teeth missing as I did. I asked him when he lost his and I told him when I lost mine.
And thats how this whole thing started.
