  • Try a ring hitch for your knot. It's more secure and might save you some grief. Great video though!

  • @aaronpetersutherland I have never, EVER, had any problems with that knot. Thanks for the advise!

  • By the way, I use a rope diameter of 3/16ths, not 3/8ths as I said in the video. Sorry for any confusion.

  • awesome video very professional

  • Thank you. I assume you mean the content, and not the video editing- it makes me cringe to watch this myself.

  • I dig your video but I have to agree with rollingfiredragon, that ball chain looks absolutely skectched out to be using. Perhaps you get away with it because of a light dart head and gentle use but I don't think that's good advice for everyone. I'm sure it would not survive on my set up. I've been known to destroy quicklinks overtime.

  • My dart head is anything but light, and I'm far from gentle to it. It works- but always check your gear before use.

    Here's how I made my D.I.Y. hammer/dart/fire practice "tool"

weight is very easy to adjust, I paid about 5-10max € for the parts to the weight, but went for kevlar core rope - so that's your choice if you want to make it cheap.

This kind of version can be easily adjusted from around 200-250grams, to probably around 600grams with the method I made this one. Cheap and durable, and damn good practice for pratty much all upper body muscles (for beginners like me at least) :-)

  • you could also use a figure 8 rewoven its simple and will NEVER come undone i do both ropedart and clombing and absailing and its used in climbing alot (well at least in australia it is lol)

  • Can a cats knot be use at the end for weight? And by this I mean can I go to the single old lady next door and steal one of her cats? The with a firm grip tie a figure 8 knot with the end of its tail into a quick swivel. This should work, no?

  • 2 dislikes are reptile and sub zero

  • can i use a masterlock for my dart?

  • I'm going to use 1/4" braided silk bondage rope. Think it'll be better than cotton?

  • "one solution to this is simply...get stronger"

  • we all know your looking at a computer

  • @greymalkin66 I wasn't questioning the security of the knot, merely the ease of securing a knot which would have equal security. During the video you demonstrate, the knot doesn't feel natural to you. I merely prescribe a simpler hitch. Good video though. I also favour an overhand figure of eight loop for a stopper.

    Different strokes for different folks.

Results matter, nothing more. Please forgive my impertinence.
