From Montreal's Lyric Theatre Singers 2009 production of "Strike up the Band". For more information, please visit us www.lyrictheatrecompany.com ("The Song of Purple Summer" from "Spring Awakening")
Thanks for the comments, Glory. The Singers did the song exactly how it was written by the arranger. This number followed an extremely "busy" number (Transylvania Mania) which had mucho choreography, so in terms of sequence, the lack of movement worked very well. Glad you enjoyed it
Very good vocally, a little boring otherwise. Oh, and can I mention how much it annoys me when guys do the "fences sway" harmony? I love hearing the sopranos do that harmony and don't understand why almost every choir changes it...Anyway, you guys did a great job. I just wish you would have shown a bit more energy.
