For 17-year-old Nick a can of spray paint is a way of life. Adrift in a lush, nocturnal urban landscape, he is out to destroy the system by making art on the maze of virginal exterior walls of downtown Seattle and Portland. Leading an isolated and lonely life, Nick must steal to support his art, shoplifting to eat and keep him in supply of spray cans. His seclusion is interrupted when he meets another guy, fellow 'tagger' Jessie and a tentative friendship is born. Their communication, hardly verbal, begins as a shared graffiti tour de force. As they collaborate on giant murals, their friendship takes on a sexual nature, but their assumptions about one another are soon questioned as political and emotional issues arise, threatening to tear them apart.

  • The characters in the movie are gay because the director, James Bolton is gay and the movie was inspired by a gay graffiti artist he once dated. Got it? Good.

I paint. I'm gay. Like the main character in the movie, it's not a big deal. A lot of the people who have posted here thought Nick was cool until they found out he was gay & then your views changed & you claim to not be homophobic?

Graffiti is for everyone - gay, straight or insane.

  • Oh, and the gay aspect seems unnecessary? It isn't. Its because these kids had NOTHING! Nothing to hang on to, nothing to believe in but their art, so when they met someone with similar interests they got attached and clung to some hope that someone else in the world actually cared about them.

It is sad. And I'm sure a story just like this exists in the real world. You people who complain about it need to grow the fuck up and LIVE. And to my fellow brother and sister supporters, continue.

  • Idc wut u guys say, i like it.

  • Hahaahaaa!!!!!! This is thee worst depiction of writers I ever seen. Theres thousands of writers and only two are faggots. Earsnot in nyc and heart in sf. Sorry to burst your bubble but not only was this film gay but the music sucked as well as the graff. portland and seattle graffiti sucks anyway. bunch of freight writers who think theyre dope. fuck this film it sucks all around

  • @horny4u2nite

well said m8, i used to paint ... and im gay to

  • This film is the worst shit I've ever seen. I am bored to death. and THE MUSIC! The shittiest shit of all the shitty shits!

  • Here's an idea, if you don't like gay movies, don't watch them.

I mean, did you guys also go watch Brokeback Mountain, and get pissed when the characters did something gay?

And I don't want to hear "oh, I didn't know it was a gay-themed movie", because guess what, that's what goddamn movie summaries and reviews are for.

  • Wow? I finally find a good graffiti movie and its about 2 gay guys? Cmon James Bolton.. Ya coulda done better.. Something more hype or anything.. Not a love story

  • the movie is realistic, kinda non-horror, not for faint heart kind of thing. even though the acting is amateur, the conflict is of a great interest. its something serious to talk about. there are kids like nick out there. and its not about homosexuality AT ALL. it is an isolated incident, it seems. i find it pretty sad that people are disturbed by this tiny part.

  • @horny4u2nite finally, sum1 who isnt a douchbag and understands that gay graffiti artists r ok... i get crap all the time where i live for bein gay n a graffiti artist

  • this was an awesome movie, i just think the gay part took it completely out of context and ruined it... come on, when you see a scene like that especially gay and living in this society, thats going to be a major plot point, why??? what was the point of that... not to mention the graffiti was shit...... but overall i liked it. Nick was very fascinating to watch.. i just feel sorry for him having to do that scene

  • shit not film
