its not as though the deal doesn't have perks though, by being ruled by their own members of society they immediately become an autonomous region. So instead of going through the years of being subjegated and abused after being conquered, they skip right to equal status with any other abh system. However, some people would rather fight than be enslaved into mediocrity.

The deal is this: The president (which was probabily elected) surendered the planet, and in return, instead of asking for money/power/freedom he asked for his family to become the monarchy of the world, and for him to rule as a lord.

Its like George Bush surendering Earth to a foreign species and turning into the king of the World. Im pretty sure many people would be extremely pissed of if that was to happen.

In fact, later on in the story (I think the end of Banner of the Stars 3 or something), Jintec's fauther gets Coup'd out of office and later executed by teh public.
