This is a poem that I wrote before the last day of finals. It symbolizes my growth, and it also is a memorial to the people and memories of the times of when Santa Clarita Early College High School merged with Academy of the Canyons. I want to thank those who made my times more exciting, and also to those that simply took the time to hear out my story of my past.

Have a great summer, and I will see you next year!

The tree of old
Once a nocturnal glow for the rare to witness
Has underwent change
Expanding its horizons through the branches
Reaching exponential growth despite the obstacles
We have seen and bared witness to...
Heavens Growth.

When sprouted onto ground,
Roots took down to ground and up to sky
Absorbing the nutrients and light
To prepare for spurt
Spurt would not occur in light
But, rather, the night would handle the growing tree.

An immunity weaken...
It faces first challenge and uncertainty
Of survival among the diurnal plants
Illness strikes the tree
A brown bark turned to gray...
With it being chipped and fallen away into the forgotten

From miracle...
From the gracious above...
The tree survives continues spiraling to top
Refreshed after illness, another appears
A human with a chop
About to destroy the trees chance to top

The mind sparks with interest in man
As he hears a calling from the gracious above
Do not destroy, but love, quoth the gracious above
The willingness of societal improvement and ascent in man...
Can often lead to ban...
From observing the beauty of nature despite the ugly.

The man has departed
But, the fierce cold has commenced
The time of elimination and choice as Nature sees its favorites...
Trees destroyed by cold as the bonds with roots loose
And the friendships with them be forgot
Misery fills the survivors of nightmares, and for some...
Awful memories of old.

Hibernation consumes the animals
Warning for rest and easiness in relaxing, warm caves
As they retreat while the tree
Sits on top of the cave
To survive
So that renewal can permit.

Spring to come
Everyone has returned refreshed
Except the tree without break
But, with determination to survive the challenges that stand before,
The tree has slowly been looked
Looked upon by peers of the environment enveloping the tree.

Determination for growth and survival...
Has perhaps led to its greatest demise of all...
The potential of the light...
Enveloping you when death arrives...
Being very high
Eventually, a branch collapses from the tree.

Almost summer,
This tree has lost most branches
Roots weakened, exposed to death...
Making surrender the optimum option to conclude challenge
But, another voice was heard in the night...
This time, of the sixty-six residents of this nature

Tree,
Time for the freedom to overcome
You may be close, but death is near
Allow for the reincarnation to commence...
Allow for me to model you into one of the great successes of all...
Quoth the voice.

I now reawaken from my death...
As a transformed and central tree of the main.
Holes carved into my bark to support life
As they support me in structure
The roots sprout among distance
Still a diurnal, I glow in the night...

To glow in the night remains me of a tale...
From old beginnings as a fresh tree on first sprout
To the reincarnation of the physical
From no support on behalf of the environment
To an affixation in support...
I truly must thank my peers for this change, as for one...
They originated onto this tree and memories of old...
Heavens growth.
